Creating your own website
Let's look at how you create a website first. As you browse the net, you jump from one page to another. The
question is, who wrote those pages? and how do they do it?
The web pages are actually digital documents, the kind that can
be read by web browsers. They are called html files. There are many ways you can
produce a html files. Even your Microsoft word can create this type of file.
It's so easy, just write a page using your Word program and then go to
Files--Save as---Write your file name but Select Save as type: Webpage.(*.htm,
*html). Voila! you already have a webpage!
So now you know that you can create a web page. But you notice
most of the web pages you come across the net look much fancier than
your word document. The truth of the matter is most people use special programs
to produce graphically stunning and interactive web pages. Examples of such
programs are Microsoft FrontPage and Netscape composer. If you have these
programs in your computer then you can start right away.
Using these special programs, you can easily create pages with
pictures, links even multimedia. You can put up a picture of your product, with
clickable link, to the description of the beauty what's so great about it, and
then with another click on a button, let people know how they can contact you
for orders. It is that simple.
